Little Wonder Television develop Screen Stockport December 2010

This month Little Wonder Television have been developing the concept for Screen Stockport, an independent film and television festival that we are planning to hold at Romiley Forum in Stockport next year. The idea is to promote the work of local film-makers of all ages and experience and give them the opportunity to have their films shown on the big cinema screen at Romiley Forum.

Our Little Wonder editor Joe is currently working on the design of the website and we have started to film the video content that will provide visitors to the site with information on local film-makers. We went along to MCC Studios in Stalybridge to film an interview with Den Davis who has written a film script "Didn't We Have A Nice Time" about being his life growing up in Stockport as a teenage fan of The Jam which has been given Paul Weller's approval. We edited the interview and cut in archive footage of The Jam on tour supplied by Den.

We are currently busy putting together ideas for the website and utilising our contacts in film and television to set up interviews with locally-based industry professionals such as producers, directors and actors which we hope will become a valuable resource for film-makers. The website will launch in the New Year so watch this space!

Love Handles video shoot, Stockport, 18th November 2010

We were commissioned by north-west-based online door furniture store Love Handles to write and produce a series of four instructional videos for their newly launched website.

We worked with their MD Craig Sellers on a news bulletin concept that would promote the personal approach of the company by using Craig and his 11-year-old daughter Chloe as the presenters of the videos. Craig's research showed that women tend to choose the design of fixtures and fittings in the home so we all felt that this 'family' approach would appeal to their online customers and aid them in their search for the products they need.

Little Wonder wrote the scripts and following approval from Craig, the videos were filmed over a day at Hammerhead TV in Heaton Mersey, Stockport (thanks to our good friends John, Emma and the team). We shot the videos using our Sony EX1R HD camera against green screen. We then edited the films using After Effects in post production to add product shots and graphic information.

Craig proved to be instantly at ease in front of the camera imparting his specialist knowledge on the products. Thrust in front of a camera and lights with pressure to remember her lines, Chloe was a complete star and a presenting natural so we're confident that she will one day succeed in her ambition to be a TV presenter. Just remember Chloe, it all started here! The series of videos can be viewed on www.lovehandles.uk.com

eXpansys Launch at Sketch Gallery, Mayfair, Friday 22nd October 2010

We were commissioned by Brazen PR to film the eXpansys launch of Jason Bradbury's tech talks at Sketch Gallery, in Mayfair, London. The hi-tech cube gallery at Sketch with projections running the entire length of each of the walls, was the ideal space to launch Jason's vlogs and premiere the Bradbury & Jones head-to-head which we had filmed the previous week.

The theme of the event was inspired by Jason likening his role at eXpansys to being 'the new kid in the technology sweetshop' with the latest gleaming gadgets sat amongst glistening displays of multi-coloured sweets. Tasty!

We shot the event on our Sony EX1R. There was a quick turn around needed for the client so we edited over the weekend in Final Cut and gave the footage some sparkle using Color. The finished film can be viewed on the eXpansysTV YouTube channel.

Filming Peter Jones & Jason Bradbury's 'Head to Head', Friday 15th October 2010

During our day's filming at Dragon Peter Jones' headquarters we set up a black backdrop in the boardroom  and used our three-head Dedo lighting kit to recreate the iconic 'Alas Smith & Jones' head-to-head sketch but this time starring Bradbury & Jones with a gadgety twist...

Setting up the shot.
As part of their online marketing campaign for client eXpansys, of which Peter Jones is a major share holder, Brazen PR came up with the ingenious idea of recreating the classic sketch and we were commissioned to film the scene and script the introduction using 'Does size really matter?' as the inspiration.
Nearly ready to roll...
Jason and Peter were more than game for a laugh as they went head to head to discuss the merits of tablet computing with the Apple Ipad versus the Samsung Galaxy Tab. As tech whizz Jason sparred with the famous Dragon, Peter Jones revealed his passion for geekery and love of Apple products.
Action!
The scene was filmed in just one take and the result was a sparkling dialogue that dipped into hilarious innuendo creating a wonderful viral teaser for their 'head to head', part of eXpansys online marketing campaign.

The completed film is to be premiered at the official launch of Jason's tech talks for eXpansys later this month and posted on YouTube.

Peter and Jason proudly show off their 9.7" and 7" inches.

Filming Jason Bradbury's tech vlogs for Brazen PR client eXpansys

Little Wonder were commissioned by Brazen PR to film a series of tech vlogs with Jason Bradbury of Channel Five's The Gadget Show to be launched on YouTube as part of a marketing campaign for online technology store eXpansys.

We filmed at the offices of Dragon Peter Jones who sits on the board of eXpansys and who had kindly given us the use of his boardroom for the day. His offices are adjacent to the famous Queens Tennis Club in Kensington who kindly allowed us to film Jason riding his electric bike around the grounds to demonstrate the HD camera on the HTC Desire smartphone.

Jason was an entertaining guy and great fun to work with as we also filmed reviews of the Motorola Milestone II and the Blackberry Torch.

Jason also got on famously with Peter Jones and the results of their collaboration can be seen in our 'Head to Head' video that parodies the famous 'Alas Smith & Jones' sketch.
